Time to celebrate!

Thanks to our 2 teams of  library monitors ‘The Bookworms’  and ’The Speedy Readers’!  We have seen an increase in library visitors during lunchtimes and our fantastic boys team seems to bring more boys into the library!  It is great to see so many children enjoying the wonderful books, board games and puzzles our library has to offer.

A big thumbs up to all the library monitors for achieving their Librarian Certificate after ticking all the boxes and completing their first year training!  Well done Patrick, Chance, Joel, Brooke and Linda for being that friendly person behind the desk, for knowing how and where to shelve library books correctly and for learning how to use our library computer program to issue, return, reserve and renew books.

Also a big thank you to our library leader Ojaswai who has strengthened her leadership skills this year.  All the library monitors agreed during their last meeting that like a real leader Ojaswai can keep her head cool at all times and that she is the person we can always count on and talk to when we have ideas or are worried about something!  She even has taken over the role of school librarian on days when Mrs. Van Nijlen was away.

Well done to all these sensational ACHIEVERs, you make our school and our library proud!
Also a quick note to parents to say that it was a lot of fun to see some of you visit the library during lunchtime when we had our Cross Country Day.  So mums and dads please feel free to drop in whenever you are early to drop off or pick up your children and remember to bring those little brothers and sisters too for a look around in our fantastic library!

Term 3’s Library week will run from 16-20 August so get ready for a special week of celebrating libraries and reading!  More info to come at the start of next term.
